The ISO 28000 Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) standard provides a best practice framework for reducing risks in the supply chain. Helps manage and reduce potential security in logistics by targeting threats such as terrorism, fraud and piracy.
The standard specifies requirements for aspects critical to security assurance of the supply chain. These aspects include, financing, manufacturing, information management, and facilities for packaging, storing and transferring goods between modes of transport and locations.
ISO 28000 applies to organizations of any size, at any stage in the manufacturing or supply chain, from small to multinational, in production, service, warehousing or shipping that wish to: establish, implement, maintain and improve a safety management system; ensure compliance with the specified security management policy; and to show others such harmony.
